Mineral Nutrition

We have all heard about the benefits of healthy eating, and also we all know at least one person who takes daily vitamin supplements.  But do we know why we need to do these things, and more importantly why the role of minerals, which very few of us take, is just as if not more important.

When we eat food we do so in the hope that we are absorbing the life giving beneficial nutrition contained within it. However due to modern farming methods using chemical growth stimulants such as organo phosphates the food we eat may look like a carrot taste like a carrot, but in fact be nutritionally deprived. We can see this by looking at the iron depletion in food since the 1940s which has dropped drastically.  There are alternatives, such as eating only Organic food, which is the ideal. However at the present time this can be expensive for some people.

Mineral nutrition is essential for proper growth and maintenance of the human body. As an example Magnesium Phosphate, found in bananas is essential for proper muscle function. This is why you will often see tennis players eating them between sets.

A mineral therapist will look at you skin, nails, hair and eyes, as well as asking you questions regarding your diet to determine what minerals you are lacking in your diet. After a month of taking the suggested mineral and making some changes to your diet or she will ask you to book another appointment to review your progress and see if there needs to be any changes made to the mineral supplements you are taking.

Conditions that can be helped by mineral treatment are far to many to mention, but the following are some of them.

Weak and cracked nails.              Dry brittle hair, that falls out.

    Acid digestive problems.                Stress.
