Biography

Jean Luc Lafitte

I graduated as a Chiropractor in 1995, and since then I have gone on to study mineral nutrition and Hypnotherapy.

I became a Chiropractor because as a child I found I was able to make people feel better with my hands. This is my gift in this life, and I believe we all have our own unique talents. The secret is to be brave enough to follow our dreams.  I started to see the connection very early on in my practice, between emotions, the chemical body and the physical body. This is why I went on to study Hypnotherapy and Mineral Nutrition.

As a result of this, one of the most successful treatments I do is for weight loss, using Nutrition and Hypnotherapy. The difference in my treatment is I do not require people to go on a diet; in fact I encourage them to eat. Food and emotion are so interlinked, often starting in childhood.  If you throw Chiropractic treatment and nutrition into this in relation to freeing up the physical and chemical body, you end up with a very powerful and all-rounded holistic treatment.

I believe that I do not heal the body, but rather I am a facilitator, I input the energy and adjustment and the body does the rest. Healing is about taking the first and most important step, and that is accepting responsibility for your own health. My job is not to heal; this is the patient’s responsibility. In the West for too long we have given this responsibility to someone else. You can't eat hamburgers all your life and fast food, then turn around and say “Hey Doc make me well” My treatment is holistic in approach, it tries to educate the person to take care of the most precious thing in this life, life its self. There is a time for conventional medical treatment, and a time for complementary treatment. I believe that the two are compatible and just as valid as each other.

I believe in order for a treatment to work their needs to be mutual respect and exchange, without this there is an imbalance between practitioner and patient. We are all equal in this world in regards to spiritual learning, the perceived imbalance regarding physical possessions, prevents us from seeing the greater truth. So when a patient comes to see me I do not judge the place where they are at in that moment, but offer a way for them to see it from a different angle.
